I love to go thrifting and junking and today I’m going to share some of my favorite places to thrift in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. If you live in the area {or plan to visit anytime soon} be sure to pin this post for a resource!
The Old Home Supply – 1801 College Avenue, Fort Worth, TX
This is one of my favorite stores ever! Covering four corners in a historic neighborhood in Fort Worth, this amazing shop is loaded with salvaged doors, hardware, plumbing items, lighting fixtures, and almost anything you could think of that you might use in a home. It’s so fun to wander through and you’ll likely leave with a bit less money in your pocket and a few more treasures in your home!
Favorite Finds: colorful vintage light bulbs and an old pink vent cover that will make a fabulous memo board
Christian Community Action – 2202 South Highway 121, Lewisville, TX {plus other locations}
CCA is one of the stores I hit up frequently and I’ve scored some serious treasures here. It’s a great place to find cheap furniture that can be painted and made over and a perfect spot for trinkets and household goods.
Favorite Finds: a set of old high school lockers and two old vintage desks
Habitat for Humanity ReStore – 1805 Cornell Lane, Denton, TX{plus other locations}
I love to pop in to ReStore. The locations vary a lot with what they carry so it’s fun to check out other spots from time to time. It’s an incredible resource for salvaged goods like doors and windows and a favorite spot for cheap paint brushes!
Favorite Finds: a vintage window with a chippy frame {for $4} and a fire extinguisher case that now holds toilet paper in my kids’ bathroom
Goodwill – 919 West Main Street, Lewisville, TX{plus other locations}
Goodwill is one of my favorites for its consistency. I hit it up for ties and other project supplies and I love checking out the items Target sends there when they’re out of season and they’ve reached the end of their shelf time. And they’re definitely the best resource for bull heads {wink}.
Favorite Finds: two vintage letterpress drawers and an old life preserver
Thrift City – 1565 West Main Street, Lewisville, TX
Thrift City is always clean and well organized and everything’s sorted by color which makes it super easy to find what you need. It’s the perfect store to pop into quickly for a fast, once-a-week treasure hunt.
Thrift World – 1358 West Main Street, Lewisville, TX
This shop is worth mentioning because if you’re in the area {hitting up Goodwill and Thrift City}, you might as well pop in here too. There isn’t a lot of home decor and very little large furniture but there are lots of small treasures to be found.
Graceful Buys – 418 East Northwest Highway, Grapevine, TX
If you’re looking for large furniture, Graceful Buys is a store to check out regularly. The store receives discards from a large local furniture store and the prices are insane. The last time I was in there they were selling a brand new microfiber sectional in perfect shape for $600. If the color has been right, I’d be its proud owner!
Thrift Giant – 1701 Brinker Road, Denton, TX
I really love Thrift Giant. And it’s truly pretty giant. Clean and well organized, they have lots of home decor and accessories and it’s a great shop for those little things you need for the home or supplies for an upcycling project.
Circa 77 – 227A West Oak Street, Denton, TX
I wasn’t going to include any clothing-only thrift stores in this post but Circa 77 should definitely be mentioned. This store is full of {fabulous} vintage clothing and the best part isanything in the store can be rented as well as bought. I had Andie and Pretty in Pink flashbacks the minute I stepped in and I can’t wait for my daughter to need a vintage dress for a party!
Vintage Bleu – 221 West Oak Street, Denton, TX
And right next door to Circa 77 is the most fabulous place. Vintage Bleu is full of vintage items, antiques, junky treasures, and eye candy … and the prices are really fair and really good! When you swing by, make sure you check out the back porch!

Denton Thrift – 708 W. University, Denton, TX
If you’re in Denton, be sure to stop by Denton Thrift. It’s a very typical thrift store but definitely full of possibilities and lots of small treasures.
Plaid Tag – 2436 K Avenue, Plano, TX
I was sold on Plaid Tag the first time I saw the big plaid letter in their sign and spotted the plaid suitcase and light fixtures. And if I didn’t think my husband would care, I would have come home from my most recent trip with the most amazing high-backed, low-seat upholstered chair! Plaid Tag isn’t big but it’s definitely worth a visit.
Family Thrift Center – 2430 K Avenue, Plano, TX
When you finish at Plaid Tag, walk a few steps down to Family Thrift Center. This store is huge, clean, and well organized and the shelves are full of trinkets and household goods. The prices aren’t as good as some other stores I’ve visited but there are definitely some good buys.
Frisco Resale – 9125 Dogwood Street, Frisco, TX
Frisco ReSale is the perfect place to look for large, affordable pieces of furniture. It’s full of armoires, tables, dining sets, and home decor .. and the prices are so fair! And be sure to cross over to the small shop beside Frisco Family Services when you’re there.
